Strategic Partnerships

Collaborating for transformative impact across Nigeria's agricultural landscape

Stronger Together

Our collaborative approach creates sustainable value for all stakeholders

At AADC, we believe that transformative agricultural development requires strategic partnerships that leverage the unique strengths, resources, and capabilities of diverse stakeholders. Our partnership model is designed to create sustainable value for all participants while addressing critical challenges in Nigeria's agricultural sector.

Through our Integrated Impact Enterprise (IIE) Business Model, we facilitate agribusiness activities along integrated agricultural value chains, creating synergies that maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Our partnerships span the entire agricultural ecosystem, from smallholder farmers and communities to government entities, security forces, and international development organizations.

Outgrower Communities

Empowering smallholder farmers through contract farming schemes

Smallholder Farmer Integration

AADC's outgrower model leverages the Farming Agro Geo-Cooperative Production framework to organize smallholder farmers into structured, efficient production units. This approach enables smallholders to access modern agricultural inputs, technologies, and markets while maintaining ownership of their land and autonomy in decision-making.

Our contract farming schemes provide smallholder farmers with:

  • Guaranteed market access and fair pricing
  • Technical training and extension services
  • Quality inputs and production support
  • Access to financing and risk management tools
  • Post-harvest handling and storage solutions

Through this partnership model, we aim to support over 60,000 smallholder farmers in commercial production, form more than 120 Farming Agro Geo-Cooperatives across Nigeria, and create 200,000+ direct and indirect jobs while increasing agricultural productivity by 150-200%.

Trading Geo-Cooperative Model

Our Trading Geo-Cooperative model creates structured market linkages for smallholder farmers, ensuring fair prices, reliable offtake, and reduced post-harvest losses. This model aggregates produce from multiple Farming Agro Geo-Cooperatives, creating economies of scale and enhancing bargaining power.

Key benefits of our Trading Geo-Cooperative model include:

  • Reduction in post-harvest losses by 30-40%
  • Increased farmer income by 40-60%
  • Improved quality standards and market access
  • Enhanced traceability and food safety
  • Creation of rural entrepreneurship opportunities

By connecting smallholder farmers to formal markets and value chains, our outgrower schemes create sustainable livelihoods, reduce rural poverty, and contribute to food security while ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality agricultural commodities for processing and export.

Nigerian Armed Forces

Partnerships for secured agricultural production & processing zones

Secured Agricultural Production & Processing Zones

In partnership with the Nigerian Armed Forces, AADC establishes Secured Agricultural Production & Processing Zones (SAPPZs) that provide a safe environment for agricultural activities in regions affected by security challenges. This innovative model combines agricultural development with security infrastructure, creating islands of stability that catalyze economic growth.

Our security partnership framework includes:

  • Joint planning and coordination mechanisms
  • Integrated security infrastructure within agricultural zones
  • Training and capacity building for security personnel
  • Community engagement and early warning systems
  • Technology-enabled surveillance and monitoring

The SAPPZs model not only enhances agricultural productivity and food security but also contributes to peace-building and stability in conflict-affected regions, creating a virtuous cycle of security and economic development.

Secured Agricultural Transport and Storage Corridors

Our Secured Agricultural Transport and Storage Corridors (SATS-C) model ensures the safe movement of agricultural inputs and outputs between production zones and markets. This partnership with security forces protects critical agricultural supply chains, reducing losses and enhancing market efficiency.

Key components of our SATS-C model include:

  • Designated secure routes for agricultural logistics
  • Strategic placement of storage facilities along transport corridors
  • Coordinated security protocols and escort services
  • Real-time tracking and monitoring systems
  • Emergency response mechanisms

By addressing security challenges along agricultural value chains, our partnership with the Nigerian Armed Forces enables farmers, processors, and traders to operate with confidence, reducing risk premiums and transaction costs while enhancing market integration and efficiency.

State Governments

Transforming agricultural policy models from agriculture to agribusiness

Inclusive Commercial Transformation

AADC partners with state governments to design, implement, and manage the inclusive commercial transformation of agriculture to agribusiness. Our approach focuses on wealth creation, revenue generation, food security, and social security through sustainable market-driven agribusiness investment models.

We work with state governments to establish and manage Agribusiness Support Programs that are privately-driven but state-enabled initiatives. These programs engage state governments to:

  • Initiate institutional and management reforms
  • Establish structures to secure investments
  • Develop infrastructure for sustainable primary production
  • Enable efficient commodity marketing and supply chains
  • Create innovative financing mechanisms

Our Agribusiness Support Programs lay the groundwork necessary for agribusiness finance and investments to flow to de-risked projects, utilizing business models that deliver value to all stakeholders across selected agricultural commodity value chains.

Integrated Value Chain Development

Our partnership with state governments includes the development of integrated agricultural value chains that maximize economic impact and create sustainable growth. We focus on high-value commodities with strong market potential, leveraging each state's comparative and competitive advantages.

Our integrated value chain approach includes:

  • Domestic Commercial Agro-commodities Value Chain Projects
  • Export Commercial Agro-Commodities Value Chain Projects
  • Modular Renewable-Energy-Powered Irrigation Systems
  • Advanced Agro-processing clusters
  • Agricultural Logistics Technology systems

By integrating production, processing, and marketing activities within coherent value chains, we create synergies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize value addition, generating benefits for farmers, processors, traders, and consumers.

Policy Transformation Framework

AADC works with state governments to develop and implement comprehensive agricultural policy frameworks that transition from traditional agriculture to modern agribusiness. Our policy transformation approach focuses on creating enabling environments for private sector investment while ensuring inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Key Policy Areas:

  • Land access and tenure security
  • Agricultural finance and investment
  • Infrastructure development
  • Market systems and trade
  • Research, innovation, and extension

Implementation Mechanisms:

  • Inter-Ministerial Policy, Program, and Project Implementation & Coordinating Office
  • Public-Private Partnership frameworks
  • Agricultural Investment Promotion Agencies
